Clachan Cottage is situated in the centre of St Johns Town of Dalry 16 miles north of Castle Douglas on the A713.

Directions:


From the South and East

Heading North the M6 becomes the M74 - near Gretna Green just past "The Gretna Factory Outlet Centre" situated on your left, take a left turn onto the A75 heading for Stranraer.
The A75 bypasses Annan and Dumfries, you then have 2 possible routes.
  • Route 1 - Take a right at Crocketford on the A712 (windy but scenic) and emerge on to the A713 at the Ken Bridge. Take a right and proceed for 2.5 miles into St. Johns Town of Dalry.
  • Route 2 - Proceed to Castle Douglas and take a right on the A713 for 18 miles into Dalry.
From the West
 
Ferries from Ireland From Stranraer take the A75 East, you then have 2 choices:
  • Route 1 - Take the A712 shortly after Newton Stewart for New Galloway. At New Galloway turn left staying on the A712, after two miles turn left at the Ken Bridge, proceed for 2.5 miles to Dalry.
  • Route 2 - Head to Castle Douglas and turn left onto the A713 for 18 miles. The cottage is in the centre of Dalry.
From the North, Glasgow and Prestwick Airport

Take the A77 South. South of Ayr take the A713 South for Castle Douglas, the A713 runs through St. Johns Town of Dalry and the cottage is situated at the centre of the village.

BE AWARE - There is another village called Dalry, north of Ayr, you must remember we are St. Johns Town of Dalry.
